Job Description

Mission:

This role supports the E2E DCR (End to End Digital Customer Relationship) Data management & Operations Director in driving the agenda for E2E DCR and UNIFY Order to Cash stream.

The End-to-End Digital Customer Data Office supports as many as 5 domain data offices and has the responsibility for their respective data Maturity, following the DCAM playbook. Today’s main gaps for the scalability of our Data Offices within E2E DCR are 1) the appropriate mapping and architecture of our data and 2) the lack of an organized and efficient way to access and consume the data from any of the multiple systems it may reside in.

Unify is our business transformation program that brings together Schneider Electric’s business, supply chain and finance processes into 1 coherent, standardized and simplified global set of processes. The program includes all the actions related to the reengineering of our processes through the adoption of SAP S4 HANA public cloud (market standard processes) and hence the adaptation of the required processes to fit this standard, from a data, process, tool, and operating model point of view

Key responsibilities:

E2E DCR and UNIFY Collaboration

  • Understand how the data is defined, manufactured, identified, maintained, delivered, and consumed and prepare a master inventory of all consumption layers, use cases, and dashboards in DCR, but not limited to UNIFY
  • Collaborate with multiple streams in UNIFY (Data Team, Order Experience/Order to Cash, Central Governance team, Data Domain owners, Data consumers) to clarify and drive the “Analytics consumption” impact from E2E DCR for UNIFY
  • Collaborate with data team/analytics in UNIFY to understand the change in data model, processes, systems etc and define guidelines & standards to have no/minimal impact to Analytics consumers
  • Identify the potential changes for each consumer because of “one target data model” and evaluate the scope of embedded analytics in SAP
  • Categorise the scope changes into appropriate teams (delivery, UNIFY, Intel DS Urbanization) and provide technical expertise to re-engineer the existing data pipelines and consumption channels
  • Lead delivery teams in offshore fulfilment hubs to bring customer data to data lakes/data storages in a unified data model to have no/minimal impacts in data consumption layer
  • Act as a business intelligence POC to identify
    • The processes in “Order to Cash” stream in UNIFY and the data touch points of all these processes in ERP systems and connected applications
    • Understand how the data is defined, manufactured, identified, maintained, delivered, and consumed in all applications required from DCR for UNIFY
    • Identify consumption optimizations by merging one of many consumption channels/models and propose to the right teams
    • Propose the right technology to enhance the scalability, reliability, and accuracy of data
  • Act as a representative as a decision maker from E2E DCR in all solutioning discussions and steering committees pertaining to data consumption for UNIFY.

Skills and Attributes:

  • 8+ years of overall experience in Data & Analytics field
  • Data Sources: Identify and gather data from various sources, including databases, files, APIs, web scraping, IoT devices, and more.
  • Data Integration: Integrate data from disparate sources into a unified dataset.
  • Data Pipelines: Create automated data pipelines for data ingestion and processing
  • Data Analysis Tools: Utilize tools like SQL, Python, R, and libraries like Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation.
  • Business Intelligence (BI) Tools: Use platforms like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Data Documentation Tools: Maintain documentation for data schemas, transformation processes, and analysis methods.
  • Data Catalogs: Maintain a catalogue of available data assets with metadata and lineage information in a data governance tool like Collibra, Informatica EDC/AXON
  • Data Quality Monitoring: Implement data quality checks and alerts for anomalies
  • Understanding of global customer data privacy and security guidelines and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a diverse scope of projects requiring detailed analysis, creative/practical problem solving, and solution design
  • Fluent understanding of the data and technical architecture of complex application landscape
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to details, and intuitive storytelling ability
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to make high-velocity decisions quickly and based on data, industry trends and stakeholder feedback

DCR Data Office Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CAST & Fulfilment teams to understand how data is defined, manufactured, identified, maintained, delivered, and consumed and prepare a master inventory of all consumption layers, use cases, and dashboards in DCR
  • Work with domain owners and different business streams to build a metadata model based on the constraints defined by metadata leaders
  • Map the Analytics/Data consumption use cases within that metadata model and identify one/different approaches to build key insights that lead to better informed and successful decision-making
  • Collaborate, Cascade, and adapt the data lifecycle to all relevant teams including, but not limited to data domain offices
  • Collaborate with DCR Domain Offices and Data Intelligence Portal (DIP) team to have a clear strategy and road map to publish metadata (Business Lineage, Tech Lineage, Data Dictionaries etc.) into Data Intelligence portal in an automated way, for better knowledge sharing
  • Re-configure/Hire/Elevate resources to build the virtual delivery pool for DCR (e.g., tapping into the distributed resources)
  • Establish
    • Convergence: standardization of data problem solving, data, tech, people practices and adoption of common language and change management
    • Cross-leverage: leveraging data assets, tech assets, tools, and processes from across business functions and establishing global benchmarks
    • Collaboration: build the right organizational structure and governance to share knowledge and scale
  • Lead data capability building and change management through workshops
  • Set-up or leverage current communities of practice (data governance, master data management) for value cross-pollination

Data Intelligence and implementation

  • Support the definition and implementation of the data strategy, in relation with the Data Governance franchise model
  • Work closely with Enterprise IT (IDS), Data Governance and AI platform teams to ensure the DCR needs are integrated into their roadmap and delivered against
  • Set-up governance to define and gate-check milestones for all data initiatives
  • Act as the data investigator for new use cases related to customer; helping to identify the right data assets that support new business needs, bringing innovation, and assessing & prioritizing among new use cases across domains, geos, LoBs
  • Drive the data intelligence agenda through orchestration of the entire data management & operations delivery pipeline process – Streamlining ideation, creation & consumption lifecycle across business problems
  • Review the use case masterplan and collaborate with the CAST team to map the data needs and their availability
  • Set up squads for the delivery of data operations needs through the different existing capability hubs

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/equivalent to this job area from a reputed educational institution
  • Any certifications related to above mentioned job area is a plus
