IT Engineering Applications Support Manager

WSP Middle East is currently seeking to recruit an IT Engineering Applications Support Manager to lead the IT practice in our UAE office.
Your new role, what’s involved?
As the IT Engineering Applications Support Manager, EMEAI, you will report to the IT Operations Director, EMEAI, and oversee our engineering application support services teams, which are dedicated to supporting our operations in the Nordics, UK, Central Europe, Middle East, and India. This team includes support of both applications and systems, including license management systems. Your primary responsibilities include managing system performance, end-user engagement in vendor-led learning & development, optimizing software asset and license management, ensuring the effectiveness of knowledge shared with the Service Desk and support teams, and actively participating in organizational governance at local and enterprise levels.
Engineering Applications & Systems Support
- Lead and oversee the engineering applications support team responsible for the Nordics, UK, Central Europe, Middle East, and India, ensuring the high performance, availability, and utilization of engineering applications and systems.
- Monitor metrics and KPIs related to application, systems, and support services performance, resolving issues promptly.
Software Asset Management
- Effectively manage software assets and licensing, in coordination with IT Service Management teams within the designated regions, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and optimizing software utilization.
- Control Enterprise processes for software asset tracking, procurement, and cost optimization.
Support Team Effectiveness
- Ensure the effectiveness of the Service Desk and support teams, enabling them through the documentation and sharing of knowledge to provide timely and expert assistance to end-users.
- Liaise between support teams and vendor support channels for escalated or highly complex support needs.
- Implement vendor-provided training and development programs for end-users to enhance their technical proficiency with software applications.
Organizational Governance
- Represent the engineering applications support team in local and enterprise organizational governance meetings, contributing to strategic decisions, service alignment, and process enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with regional stakeholders to understand and address unique support needs and requirements.
Process Optimization
- Continuously assess and improve engineering support processes, aligning them with Enterprise best practices and evolving business requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency gains.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT engineering application support, including experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong understanding of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
- Strong understanding of engineering applications within the AEC industry, software asset management, and licensing.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Preferred
- Multilingual proficiency (English and Spanish or French preferred).
- Experience working in a global organization with a diverse workforce.
