Working as a BIM Modeler – Rail (Trackform Works), you will design and perform BIM Modelling for Rail discipline i.e., alignment, trackform works and permanent way structures. In addition, your duties will be to:

  • Generate alignment models, rail, and track slab models.
  • Generate layouts, profiles, and cross sections from 3D BIM models for entire trackform works scope.
  • Ensure models / drawings accuracy based on BIM standards and project workflows criteria and quality assurance checklist.
  • Work with BIM coordinator and BIM models to prepare submission packages and perform model clean up, QA/QC and synchronize models on regular to the cloud collaboration platform.
  • Report regularly to Principal BIM Modeler / BIM Manager on the progress of work.
  • Ensure all exported information is executed in the correct format and structure.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines regarding design-changes and model changes.
  • Adhere to the BEP and BIM project workflow criteria.
  • Follow BIM content standards and development procedures.
  • Export NWC/IFC and other formats for collaboration internally and externally
  • Working independently as well as with a team.
  • Liaison with lead business and other team members for preparation of design models / drawings.
  • Any knowledge in Design Automation is an added advantage.

In addition, your duties will be have experience in the following:

  • Ability to utilize MicroStation, AecoSIM/Open Building Designer, ProjectWise, AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRail Designer in adherence to defined CAD & BIM standards to develop 3D modelling, layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D BIM drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.
  • Proven ability to work up drawings (plans, sections & details) from Engineers’ basic sketches to full working drawings.
  • Ability to liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate design and drawing production.
  • Assists with establishing, maintaining, and enforcing the use of proper BIM standards and procedures.
  • You should be able to demonstrate some experience and working knowledge of relevant technical design guidance and ISO standards, Network rail standard, Cross Rail standard, Uniclass etc.
  • Perform clash detection using Navisworks and Revizto.
  • Coordinate between the internal and external team & other project stakeholders.
  • You should be able to understand and communicate BIM and CAD standards for use on Rail engineering projects and possess an appropriate overall knowledge of the rail infrastructure design sector.
  • Commitment to work as part of a design team focused on project delivery.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Multi-Discipline Rail Projects.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

As a successful candidate you will have a BE / Diploma in Civil / Structural from a recognized Institute with experience in BIM modelling on Rail infrastructure Projects includes Road / Rail Bridges, Stations, Depots etc. You will also possess: –

  • Experience in working with Common Data Environments i.e., BIM360, Bentley ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Expert in preparation of General Arrangement drawings, Plans, cross sections, Horizontal & Vertical alignments.
  • A strong, self-motivated, and assertive person capable of working under pressure.
  • Expertise in modeling Autodesk, Civil3D, Bentley OpenRail/Power Rail Track and OpenBuilding Designer and MicroStation 2D is a must.
  • Experienced in model coordination using Autodesk Navisworks and Revizto.
  • Experience on Bentley Power Rail Track for track alignment is desirable.
  • Experience in international projects (UK, US, Middle East, Australia).
