Compliance Manager

An excellent opportunity is available with a banking business who are in set up phase in the Middle East for a Compliance Manager withing the DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre) branch to be responsible for performing compliance monitoring activities, reporting and oversight for the DIFC branch and for providing compliance advisory to the business.

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and MLRO, you will ensure compliance activities conducted from the DIFC branch comply with current DFSA (Dubai Financial Services Authority) legislation, regulation, rules and internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the branch with the definition and implementation of the compliance programme for the Middle East market covering local and international
  • Manage and oversee the branch´s Compliance Monitoring Programme, Risk and Control Self-Assessment and be involved in internal and external reviews and audits of the branch activities, assist in the preparation for regulatory inspections and in the designing and implementation of remedial action plans in relation to compliance matters
  • Support the CCO in preparing/contributing to the internal and external compliance reporting processes, communications with the DFSA for compliance related notifications or approvals “as required” and submission of regulatory returns by the branch.
  • Provide advisory and guidance to the business, employees and senior management of the branch on compliance-related matters
  • Develop and pro-actively manage the implementation of compliance related policies, procedures, systems and controls
  • Design and provide training programmes to relevant staff on compliance requirements and assist in enhancing compliance culture at the branch, covering AML, Sanctions and ABC programme

The Compliance Manager will possess a strong knowledge of Middle East FCC & Compliance Regulations having acted within a similar role within the region.
