JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose:

  • To support Group Financial Controller and Group CFO, aided by the power of financial information and help them to strategize the group’s vision, objectives and growth. This will be derived through qualitative management information systems, analytics, value creation and identifying key business drivers.
  • Ensure adherence to management accounting principles for all the performance reporting.
  • Alignment and designing the reconciliation framework of business performance reporting with various other units of Finance.
  • Monitor and analyze actual performance against annual financial plans & budgets using various MIS reports and tools
  • Lead a number of annual exercises and ad hoc projects (e.g. Budget and Forecast, ICAAP and Stress Test)
  • Responsible for the MIS and analytics driven from Advance Analytics

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Drive Performance Management with the conventional and Islamic banking businesses, subsidiaries & associate companies through a robust challenge & review process, across actual performance, forecasts & budgets.
  • Add value to the strategic direction by driving the medium term planning, annual budgeting and continuous forecasting process by adopting best practice performance management techniques and KPI’s for Emirates NBD Group and its subsidiaries, in support of Group CFO, CEO, EXCO and the Board.
  • Add value to the strategic direction by assisting Group CFO, CEO, EXCO and the Board derive Group vision, mission and aspiration as well as values and behaviors and role model values and behaviors particularly on performance.
  • Drive Value Based Management for the Group including establishment of a best in class economic profit framework in conjunction with businesses, technology and risk in line with Basel and proven Economic Profit techniques.
  • Drive the Group Business Performance team in successful completion of BAU activities, annual exercises and adhoc projects
  • Add value through analysis and providing more insights on the effectiveness of Advance Analytics used in the Group

Qualifications:

  • A professional degree in Finance (CA or MBA preferred)

Experience, knowledge and skills:

  • Minimum 8 – 10 years of post qualification experience
  • Should have worked in a banking setup
  • Should have exposure to Management Accounting, Financial Accounting and Budgeting & forecast exercise.
  • Should have managed a team of people.
  • Detailed IT knowledge
  • Good understanding of accounting, management reporting and business performance measurement tools.
  • Excellence with MS Office Applications.
