JOB SUMMARY
As a member of the EMEA Finance team, the Manager Finance Business Process and Systems will work closely with the Senior Director Business Process and Transformation and other members of the EMEA and HQ Finance teams (especially Financial Applications Business Support – FABS) along with Accenture Hospitality Services (AHS) to deliver quality support and process alignment across above property scoped initiatives. The Manager will contribute specialized knowledge and skill in Marriott’s standard PeopleSoft Financial applications, especially in the context of EMEA based requirements, to support various business objectives.
The in scope projects will vary each year across the applications and processes within Finance’s remit generally with a focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance discipline usually with increased leverage of Marriott’s enterprise applications. Efforts will include working with business and technical team members to gather and analyze requirements, develop appropriate designs, provide for the development and / or configuration as needed, test and manage the implementation of changes to include not just the technology change but associated people and process change as well.
In addition to specific business support and project activities, this position will provide overall application expertise and assist with general business and process design, system testing and change management support to include training and deployment activities of both EMEA led initiatives and HQ driven change impacting the continent.
BUSINESS CONTEXT
Marriott has been highly successful with transforming its finance operations, both at the hotel level as well as at above-property and headquarters’ levels. A key component of this successful transformation has been implementing and continuing to develop and improve the Company’s PeopleSoft ERP platform. Through a series of technology projects carried out in concert with business process transformation, the Company has reduced costs, improved accounting information quality and improved internal controls over a period of several years.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Project Management / Support
- Provide business system support to the EMEA finance teams including but not limited to business processes, Allocations, nVision reporting, Query and System Access
- Work collaboratively and directly with clients and other stakeholders to understand business needs, translate to system / process requirements and analyze to develop appropriate solutions including testing of options as required to determine recommended approach and validate with clients.
- Approach must provide for both the immediate delivery and successful adoption of the change by clients as well as provide for the long term support of the solution within the existing organization.
- Ensure complete documentation of all requirements, design and delivered solution to include development and delivery of change management materials to enable end user adoption of new processes.
- Function as subject matter expert and provide training and technical advice pertaining to Financial Application systems and related Marriott processes to above property Finance associates.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director Finance Business Process and Systems.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience
- Two years’ experience providing support and configuration for Marriott’s PeopleSoft GL and EPM applications strongly preferred.
- Functional application development and support experience required.
- Prior experience supporting large-scale system implementation projects preferred.
- Lodging / hospitality experience a plus; Marriot specific experience highly desirable.
Education or Certification
- University degree in Accounting or Information Systems related field preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Broad knowledge of Marriott hotel accounting and finance processes and systems.
- Specific knowledge and understanding of Marriott’s PeopleSoft General Ledger and EPM applications.
- Understanding of configuration best practices.
- Understands, embraces and manages project planning and execution methodology, including the associated tools, work plan schedules, issue resolution tracking and status review updates.
- Analytical and logical thinking skills are paramount.
- Ability to identify, clarify and resolve issues and risks related to project design, build and test activities, escalating them as needed.
- Innovative thinker and agile learner; able to readily apply past learnings in new situations to generate solutions to MI challenges and/or create something entirely new.
