JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

Responsible for performing the purchasing function within the Parts & Quick Ship organization to ensure materials are procured to meet customer requirements on time and drive cost savings while maintaining the overall service levels.

This position, as applicable to all in Emerson, comes with a Health and Safety responsibility. We all own safety. The details of this are defined in Emerson’s Company Procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Your role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Timely placement of Purchase Orders to both external & intercompany suppliers
  • Manage order acknowledgements & perform regular follow-ups to ensure on time delivery to meet customer requirements
  • Maintain the item master database with the latest lead time, price and related purchasing information.
  • Handle purchasing workflows in the activation of new items
  • Provide resolution for supplier logged invoices and review GRNI
  • Act as Import Gatekeeper
  • Drive cost containment, reduction and avoidance by utilizing best cost vendors
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all suppliers
  • Evaluate vendor performance and take necessary steps to improve supplier OTD to meet the business requirements
  • Provide quick resolution to inbound shipment discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy and ensure quality issues are addressed
  • Prepare monthly Purchasing reports as required
  • Provide information on the status of orders to internal stakeholders (Planning, Customer Service, Shipping, Warehouse etc) and also external stakeholders like LBP’s, end customers etc.
  • Ensure adherence to local and international Emerson Trade Compliance procedures in connection with all transactions and business practices
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by your line manager

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical, Instrumentation, Industrial Engineering preferred
  • General knowledge of material types
  • Product knowledge and experience in Fisher Valves is an advantage
  • Knowledge of machining processes
  • MRP Systems Knowledge
  • 3-5 Years’ Experience in Control Valves Industry preferably within Supply Chain
  • Fluency in English
