Project Accountant
About This Role
We are looking for a Project Accountant to join our agile team in the Middle East region. In this role you will be based in Abu Dhabi, but supporting projects across the Middle East region.
In this role, you will work as the key Project Accountant looking after a portfolio of projects in our Defence & Security division. You will manage all the finances connected to each project, as well as working alongside the Project Management team, attending all project review meetings to share evaluations on financial impacts of actions, evaluation of risks and general financial overviews and statuses of each project.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the program for all financial analysis (P&L forecast, profit, cash flow etc.)
- Assist the financial analysts’ team in several areas (all steps of monthly closing, preparation of various monthly and quarterly financial reports, etc.)
- Verify and analyze monthly figures
- Participate in the annual budget and forecasting processes (backlog and opportunities) monthly accounts, statutory accounts for the Portfolio
- Support new contract (ECP, Proposal) from a financial perspective Prior to Contract
- Award by running scenarios, analysis of cash flow, UBR/UER, provide preliminary price/ROM
- Run scenarios, analysis of cash flow, UBR/UER, support CCO, FBS during project creation
- Control the monthly forecasting cycle for project P&L and Balance Sheet, working closely with Project Managers during the PRC cycle
- Ensures IFRS is applied appropriately including IFRS 15
- Support all audit requirements both internal and external
- Run and constantly improve the cost accounting in close cooperation with the cost centre responsible persons.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in accounting or finance or Recognized accounting certification (CMA, CA, CGA)
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of previous financial analyst responsibilities, such as financial reporting and analyzing financial performance
- IFRS experience is required
- Ability to reconcile intercompany numbers
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, MS360).
- Knowledge of Hyperion Enterprise and Oracle systems, an asset.
- Experience with manufacturing company is an asset
- Local Government Price Law knowledge an asset
