We are currently seeking for ambitious individuals to join a new wholly owned branch of HSBC Bank Middle East Ltd. (HBME) which HSBC intends to establish in Oman, working together with other colleagues to define, manage and achieve business targets. The establishment of this Branch remains subject to regulatory approvals and the issuance of a banking license.
Role overview:
To effectively manage / process the end to end operations of Securities Service (SSV) Operations including settlements, payments, foreign exchange, corporate actions, Finance functions and Management Information reporting.
To provide support to the locations where SSV operations is offshored
Be seen as a key contributor in driving change in the market, improve service delivery and assist in expanding SSV HBME Oman market share.
Identify opportunities for innovation based on client feedback and ensure that we remain their preferred choice of custodian.
Assist SSV Head of Ops HBME Oman in all Operational business continuity tasks and support with maintaining excellent relationship with all relevant stakeholders.
To manage the anticipated changes in the market infrastructure.
To back-up for Operations team as and when needed and also participate in client due diligence visits, RFPs, client risk reviews etc.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of Securities markets, with 2-4 years of work experience in particular custody business
- Ability to manage and mitigate operational risk effectively
- Knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitor and market
- Working with diverse, geographically dispersed teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good presentation and analytical skills with an achievement-oriented approach to business
