JOB TITLE: Supervisor – Civil
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervising construction activities and field personnel related to mechanical, piping, painting, insulation, refractory and fireproofing discipline.
- Conduct tool box talks
- Monitoring daily construction activities and daily progress in his area
- Promotes job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately. Regularly participation in HSE meetings, daily jobsite walks, conducts toolbox talks and keep records.
- Build right first time in line with QinC initiative and put maximum efforts to get inspection records signed off with no/minimum punch list items.
- Implement construction work processes, project procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
- Prepare reports relating to construction progress, job manpower forecasts etc.
- Alert Construction Manager or Construction Superintendent whenever any aspect of the work does not comply with the contract requirements or is being performed outside of the contract scope.
- Attend subcontract/cost awareness sessions and understand the Responsibility matrices, BOQ & preambles of subcontract.
- Provide solutions to subcontractor’s problems in order to achieve the successful execution of the project. Verify that the material handed over to the Subcontractor is controlled, preserved and issued for the intended purpose.
- Serves as a coach and mentor for less experienced staff
- Input site construction feedback in Construction Observation Form
- Closely monitor additional work of Site Instruction until work is completed and to inform Subcontracts team for closure of Site Instruction.
- Renowned knowledge in survey equipment; underground activities such as earthworks/excavation, concrete works, steel works, road works and other related civil activities.
- Training of subcontractors to build right first time and perform Quality Control inspection on material received, installation in-progress and final process inspection on the assigned works.
- Able to understand a material packing list and identify the material required for the installation and cross reference with the PO. Planning activity prepare material requisitions & ensure their withdrawal.
- Provide day to day civil / structural support and advice to supervisors. Provide specialist support with regards to inspection, and meeting with client or subcontractor.
- Coordinate civil / structural / building activities within assigned scope at work site
- Ensure that necessary certification for materials are available for concrete works.
- Review the project schedules to confirm work sequences, installation progress requirements and completion milestone plans. Also, identify other discipline commodities that must be installed to support the civil works.
- Preparation of work, monitoring of punch lists and red lining of GA drawings P&IDs. After completion of works ensuring feedback & close work
- The Ability to understand and implement civil / structural drawings (topographic layouts, earthworks/excavation drawings, boreholes locations, fencing, paved roads and drainage, underground piping and foundations, architectural and conceptual building drawings, control room layouts, substation layouts, machinery shelters, service platforms, pipe racks, pump foundations, vessel and vessel platform foundations, columns and other civil/structural drawings)
- Ensure AFCs are strictly followed by Subcontractor.
- Ensure implementation of Petrofac’s Civil, Structural and Building procedure.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- 6+ Civil, Structural / Building site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors
- Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Experience working in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/FSU), Middle East, and/or North Africa
- Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce
- Good communications skills
- Familiar with International codes and standards(BS,ASTM.ACI etc.), concrete/asphalt mix designs, laboratory testing of concrete, asphalt, earth works and grouting
- Have knowledge and interpretation skills of building sectional/reinforcement and structural steel drawings
- Has knowledge and experience to solve civil, building, structural issues onsite and provide guidance to subcontractors.
- Analytic and problem-solving skills together with good interpersonal and organizational skills English fluency both spoken and written.
