Context

We are seeking an experienced Rail System Manager to oversee the design and construction phases of a metro rail project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all systems are integrated effectively and that the project meets all technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Lead and manage the rail systems engineering team throughout the design and construction phases of the metro project.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of all rail systems.
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Oversee the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of rail systems, including signaling, telecommunications, power supply, and rolling stock.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, regulations, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with rail system design and construction.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement within the project team.

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in rail systems engineering, with a focus on metro rail projects.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale rail system projects from design through to construction and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of rail industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Preferably with UAE or GCC Experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with modern rail technologies and innovations.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices in rail system design and construction.
